Hello, my lovely readers!
Welcome to the very first Feature Series on Savvy Lifestyle 24! I can’t tell you how thrilled I am to finally share this new chapter with you, a monthly segment dedicated to spotlighting creators, influencers, and inspiring individuals who are doing incredible work in their fields.
It feels just right to kick off this journey with someone whose story is not only packed with personality, power, and perseverance but also a punch of serious style. I’m talking about none other than Dr. Kham Chyrmang – a doctor, professional model, motorcycle racer, basketballer, musician and the list goes on (yes, really!). He’s someone who truly lives on the edge, where adrenaline meets artistry, and discipline drives full-throttle passion.
In this post, we’re not just getting a glimpse into his fashion favourites and styling tips, we’re diving into who he is behind it all. And after meeting him for a quick but heartfelt chat, I can honestly say: when you know your worth and put your energy into the right places, there’s no limit to what you can become.
The Man Behind the Many Hats
Shradha: You wear so many hats – doctor, model, athlete, musician… but let’s rewind a little. Tell us about yourself, what was growing up like for you and what shaped the person you are today?
Kham: Hello! I’m Dr. Kham Chyrmang, and I guess you could say I’ve always had a hunger for growth and expression in many forms. I’ve pursued multiple passions over the years – I’m a doctor, a professional model, I’ve played basketball at the state level, I’m a competitive swimmer, a motorcycle racer in the Royal Enfield Continental GT Cup, and a musician who sings, plays the piano, and I’m also a part of a band.
One of the most meaningful things I’ve built is a community: I co-founded the Cafe Racers of Shillong with my close friend Sunny Blah back in 2015. This year marks a full decade since we started, and it’s grown into a space that does more than just celebrate vintage motorcycles. We focus on giving back through charity, promoting responsible riding, and creating a strong sense of brotherhood.
Growing up, I didn’t have a typical childhood filled with distractions. I was always focused on improving myself academically, artistically, and athletically. I may not have been the smartest student in the room, but I was certainly among the most hardworking. People used to tell me I was doing too much and might end up succeeding in none. But here I am, having reached milestones in each of those paths and I’m still learning, still growing.
White Coat Dreams

Shradha: What made you choose medicine, and how did your journey as a doctor begin?
Kham: My interest in medicine took root in Shillong, where I grew up. I later moved to Bangalore to pursue my medical studies. My biggest influence was Dr. Sandy Syiem, one of Meghalaya’s most respected psychiatrists and the founder of SAN-KER. He isn’t just an incredible medical professional, he’s someone whose leadership and compassion continue to leave a lasting impression on me.
Back then, mental health wasn’t widely talked about or understood, especially here. But seeing Dr. Syiem’s dedication made me realise how important it is to change the narrative around mental wellness. I knew I wanted to be part of that movement. That’s why I entered this field, not just to treat, but to advocate and expand my ability to help others.
Hustle, Balance & Discipline
Shradha: You seem to balance so many roles – what’s your secret to juggling work, passion, and life?
Kham: Honestly, it’s not easy. On most days, I barely get four to five hours of sleep. It’s not ideal, and I don’t recommend it long-term, but I’m young and full of energy right now, and I want to use that time wisely.
I rely heavily on planning and time-blocking. Every hour of my day is accounted for – whether it’s a hospital shift, a content shoot, band practice or a ride with my club. If I didn’t have a structured routine, I’d never be able to keep up with everything. It’s a lifestyle I’ve trained myself into, and it’s all about prioritising and knowing when to switch gears.
The Racer’s Heart

Shradha: Now, we have to talk about your love for bikes. Your Instagram is filled with motorbikes and high-speed rides, where did this love for bikes come from?
Kham: It’s something I share with my dad. He’s always been into motorcycles and was part of a club himself. I remember being completely fascinated by his Royal Enfield – the classic look, the sound, the elegance. That’s where it all began.
I first got into bikes in 2012 when I was still in school. I didn’t have my own back then, but I was obsessed with the culture. Classic bikes weren’t really popular among young people at the time, they were mostly seen as something for the older generation. That’s one of the reasons why we started Cafe Racers of Shillong, we wanted to build a new culture around vintage motorcycles for the youth.
Riding gives me this incredible rush. There’s a thrill, a sense of freedom, and the pure joy of connecting with the machine. Combine that with brotherhood and community, it becomes more than a hobby, it becomes a way of life.
Kham’s Modelling Journey

Shradha: Let’s rewind to how you got into modelling, was it something you always had in mind or did it unfold on its own?
Kham: Oh, it happened quite naturally. I remember I was playing at the district level in basketball. After we won, someone approached me with a modelling offer. At the time, I needed money to buy a new pair of shoes for the upcoming state-level tournament, so I thought, why not? It seemed like a good opportunity, and I didn’t overthink it.
That one decision kind of opened a new chapter. And once I moved to Bangalore for my studies, I started exploring modelling more seriously. I took up offers, learnt the ropes, and gradually built myself up in the space. It wasn’t part of a grand plan, but looking back, it was definitely meant to be.
Shradha: Tell us a bit about the kind of modelling projects you’ve done so far.
Kham: I’ve worked with Zara (for test shoots), Amazon, Myntra, Peter England, Van Heusen, Adidas – all big names. I was also the brand ambassador for Styl-O Label.
But one of my favourite projects was something deeply personal – a blog concept called “Man with the Mask.” The idea was to break the myth that only traditionally attractive people can pull off fashion. I used a mask to represent anonymity and featured people of different body types, including plus-size models, to show that style is about confidence, not looks. It was featured on ScoopWhoop, and I’m proud of what it stood for.
Let’s Talk Fashion
Shradha: Fashion-wise, how would you describe your personal aesthetic?
Kham: I’d describe my style as heavily grunge-inspired – edgy, expressive, and raw. I’m most at home in a leather jacket, boots, and a band tee. That trio has become almost like a uniform for me, not just because it looks good, but because it feels authentic. My outfits usually tell a story, whether it’s a throwback to a retro era, a tribute to rock music, or just a reflection of how I feel that day. It’s a look that never tries too hard yet leaves a lasting impression.

Shradha: Let’s talk about accessories, what are your go-to pieces?
Kham: For me, it’s all about subtle statements. My wallet chain is practically a signature at this point, it adds that classic ruggedness I love. I also have a few staple signet rings, sunglasses, and chains I rotate depending on the outfit. The idea is to keep it minimal, but make each piece speak.

Shradha: Are you a fan of layering? If so, what’s your approach to it?
Kham: Absolutely. I love playing with textures and layers. My go-to layering formula would be a cool graphic or band tee under a thrifted flannel shirt, topped with my trusty leather jacket. That’s a look that works for both the biker in me and the stylist in me. I usually pair it with skinny jeans, not just for the silhouette, but because they’re super practical when riding. They hug the legs and avoid snagging on the bike.
Shradha: Colour-wise, do you stick to neutrals or do you mix it up?
Kham: I lean into a deep, muted palette – blacks, browns, whites, navy, maroon. I’m a big fan of monochromatic looks where you play with various tones of the same colour. Like navy on navy, or a full-white outfit with layered textures. It’s understated but impactful. And white, by the way, is my favourite colour.

Shradha: Do you have go-to styles for different occasions – like formal events or just casual days?
Kham: Yes! I believe you’ve got to dress for the moment. For formal occasions, I’ll always go for a sharp double-breasted or pinstripe suit. It’s classic, timeless, and gives you that instant confidence boost. For more casual days, especially when I’m out and about, I lean into street style, a bit oversized, a bit loud, but still grounded. Styl-O Label nails that vibe by the way.

Shradha: One last thing: what fashion advice would you give to men today?
Kham: Fashion is personal. It’s about owning who you are without needing to prove anything. I always say: simplicity is the hardest thing to pull off, but if you can do it, you’ll stand out in the best way. Find what works for you, and wear it with confidence. That’s what real style is.
That’s a Wrap, but Before You Go…
Here’s a peek into another one of Kham’s biggest passions, his club Cafe Racers of Shillong.
This isn’t just a group of riders, it’s a community movement, with chapters across India. Over the years, they’ve been deeply involved in charity, road safety campaigns, mental health awareness, and so much more.

On 18th May 2025, they hosted the Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride, an international initiative that brings classic motorcycles together in support of men’s mental and physical health.

Oh, and did I mention? Kham is also the illustrator of the club’s official merchandise, yes, the man designs his own gear.
